Services we provide for the family

Let’s start with our youngest patients, babies. We’ll inspect their little mouths and gums to see how their primary teeth are forming. As they transition to toddlers and up, expect more and more teeth to emerge, and with that comes new responsibilities: brushing!

You want to stay with your child while they brush with non-fluoridated toothpaste; excessive fluoride before the age of 6 can cause fluorosis, which can damage developing tooth enamel. Good habits start early, and it starts with you as the parent! The more it is instilled in them, the easier it gets (even if it doesn’t feel that way!).

My teen is not interested in brushing or flossing - is there anything I can do?

Adolescents can be tricky, and will sometimes do the opposite of what they are told. Sitting down with them and explaining the consequences of failing to brush, including root canals and gum surgery, may help. But also bring up the more vain aspects - like stained teeth or terrible breath.

Bringing them to the expert family dentist in Phoenix will also help. A little chat with the dentist or hygienist beforehand and we can help to show pictures and get across why it is so important to maintain oral hygiene.

Additional frequently asked questions.

  • Are dental x-rays safe?: Yes. Careful precautions are taken to ensure x-ray procedures are done standardly to prevent exposure to radiation.
  • Do I really need to floss daily?: Yes, flossing is the best way to prevent gum disease.
  • Should I have my wisdom teeth removed?: The answer varies person to person depending on whether or not the molars fit perfectly into the mouth. An examination from your dentist will determine if this is needed or not.
  • Can you be too young or old to visit a dentist?: No. Anyone can benefit from dental care and good oral health can depend on maintaining it through regular checkups and cleanings.

“What an AWESOME staff! From the minute you walk in, you are welcomed by the super friendly front office staff. Dr. Turner's assistant, Tabatha, is amazing! She is very thorough during my visits and makes sure all my questions are answered. Above all, she is just the sweetest!”

“I went to see Dr. Turner based on a recommendation from a friend. I was not disappointed. I had broken a previously chipped (and capped) tooth and the results were amazing and the procedure was smooth as can be. I have issues with some other teeth and will be back to have those resolved”

— Eddie N.

“The people who work at this practice are welcoming and helpful. They answered all of my questions and responded quickly with my insurance questions. My hygienist Nicole did a wonderful job! She made me feel comfortable right away and took good care of me. If you're looking for a new dentist, go check out Dr. Turner and Nicole!”
