Nitrous oxide is a sweet-smelling, colorless gas blended with oxygen that you breathe in softly through a small mask resting over your nose. Within just a few minutes, you’ll feel your shoulders drop, your breathing slow, and any tension begin to melt away. You won’t fall asleep. You’ll simply feel calm, comfortable, and completely at ease, and you’ll be able to chat with your dentist anytime you’d like.
Once you’re settled in, we’ll softly place the mask over your nose and slowly adjust the sedation until you feel just right. Our team will stay close beside you throughout your visit, checking in often and making sure you feel safe, relaxed, and well cared for every step of the way. When your treatment is complete, you’ll breathe in pure oxygen for a few minutes to gently bring you back to feeling like yourself again.
Because this option requires extra time, attention, and care from our team, a small additional fee applies. We’ll always walk you through every detail beforehand, so there are no surprises and nothing to worry about: just comfort and a team that truly cares.
